Free Japanese Learning Tools

よむ bundles a set of free Japanese reading tools into one browser add-on. Each one is built for a real moment of immersion — a word you can't read, a manga panel with no selectable text, a video line going by too fast, a kanji you want to break down. They all share the same popup, so you stay inside whatever you're reading.

Everything here is free, runs in your browser, and needs no account to start. Pick the tool that matches what you're trying to do:

How the tools fit together

The workflow is always the same loop: find Japanese → understand it in context → save the useful words. A normal web page, a manga page read through OCR, and a video subtitle line all become the same kind of tappable text, so the dictionary, audio, kanji breakdown, and mining buttons work everywhere without you learning a different interface for each one.

You can use a single tool and ignore the rest. Read manga with just OCR, or watch YouTube with just the immersion filter, or look words up with just the dictionary. They only connect when you want them to.
